We recently saw a megadeal in the LATAM region, as Telefónica Móviles del Uruguay, a telecommunications services business, sold its unit in Uruguay to Millicom International in May for $440M, as part of Millicom’s strategy to expand its presence in South America. 

Fox Corporation acquired Mexico-based Caliente TV, a provider of sports and entertainment video streaming services for consumers in Latin America. The acquisition strengthens Fox’s presence in the region’s sports streaming market, expanding its rights portfolio and acceleration multi-platform growth across Mexico and Central America.

Norway-based Visma acquired Chile’s Rindegastos, a provider of expense management software and mobile apps for SMEs in Latin America. The acquisition strengthens Visma’s leadership in the region’s business software market, expanding its HR tech and ERP ecosystem while accelerating digital transformation for local businesses. 

In April, ReceitaDigital, a Brazilian provider of digital medical prescription services and online medication search offerings, was acquired by Mevo Tecnologia. The acquisition expands Mevo’s prescriber network, enhances patient access to digital prescriptions and reinforces its leadership in Brazil’s HealthTech sector.
